Born in rural areas, inspired by the bad behavior of people regarding environmental protection as well as biodiversity conservation, guided by my career, I decided to extend my contribution to biodiversity conservation, educating citizens about environment protection and availing best practices to sustain this sector.
In 2012, I was engaged by a Local NGO as the specialist in agriculture transformation for climate change mitigation and adaptation. In 2016, I got an award among nine young innovators of the year by The Ministry of Youth and Culture in Rwanda, through the Youth Connect Award-2016, after presenting a prototype project of a commercial cattle salt block manufactured from agriculture production to protect the environment and increase the source of animal protein.
The above platform engages me to create a local social venture called NAC RWANDA, and I serve as the Chief Executive Officer as well as the Founder. This organization helps me to start consultancy and host training along the agriculture value chain and environment conservation for the benefit of farmer-cooperatives, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and stakeholders, with reference to the global agenda of SDGs.
In 2016, I participated in a young professional for agriculture development "YPAD" competition. FAO/Rwanda recognizes my effort in agrobiodiversity and ecosystem management, and job creation in those sectors in rural areas. In June 2019, I was selected by The Rwanda Ministry of Culture and Youth among 50 young entrepreneurs to participate in a youth connect caravan held in Kenya, targeting learning about the modernized agriculture industry, business development in ecotourism, and biodiversity conservation sector.
Since 2016, I was elected by other young entrepreneurs in Nyamagabe District as the coordinator and founding member of Rwanda Youth in Agribusiness Forum (RYAF). In March 2019, I conducted youth mapping activities in 17 sectors of Nyamagabe District, targeting youth in agribusiness sectors with the mission of identifying youth farmers groups and small and medium enterprises to improve productivity and access to potential markets. In February 2020, I conducted a farmer Solidarity Groups mapping activity in Nyamagabe District, linking them to financial services.
We have created a farmer radio with the purpose of community engagement in biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, and adaptation. Access Agriculture selected me into a program of ENTREPRENEURS FOR RURAL ACCESS (ERAs) in 2021 to teach small farmers in my region to start agroecology and conservative agriculture with the award of the SMART PROJECTOR.
In 2021, The Creativity Fund / INGAZI FUND funded our project of YOUTH engagement in conservative agriculture in South Province of Rwanda. In NAC RWANDA, we aspire food security worldwide through a sustainable agriculture value chain, creating a YOUTH AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT CENTER IN ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP, CONSERVATIVE AGRICULTURE, AND NUTRITION, where 12 permanent jobs are created and 2,022 casual workers are recorded annually.
I regularly warn the community through my social platforms that protecting our planet starts with you.
